Just got my jack boots back from the cobblers today - the rubbish modern stick-on rubber soles replaced with additional stiched soles (sort of double-soled now) and nicely studded. I'll be soaking the leather soles and uppers with copious quantities of leather goo over the next few days, to be ready for D-Day +2.

Final bits of German kit including insignia, (out with the sewing kit  again), and I'll be after some help at the weekend getting all the webbing bits in the right place.

Also bulk buy of BB's and pyro's
33,000 .2s
3,300 .3s
10 each, smokes, stick grenades, ringpull grenades and thermobarics
Should keep me going for a while

They were originally for the DAK but were issued to Waffen SS and Heer units late in the war as well. (Perhaps "webbing" 'y' straps would have been more accurate!).

Hopefully Tomorrow/Sat should be picking up the following item while at D-Day+2:

- Brit tent from Josh (Gunman) for £15.
- Cyma Thompson with 3 mags and sling from Gunman regular/marshall Robbie for £80.
- A better inner-barrel and cut-off lever for my G3 from Gunman regular/marshall Mark.
- An entrenching tool from Spiers for £15 and perhaps even some nice BD from him too!

And finally the arrival of my Y straps and belt. Patience is not a virtue in my world. Still waiting on my belt buckle and 44 dot tunic if it ever comes.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the canvas Y straps and belt were often used by snipers as they were non light-reflective and quieter

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Quite right mate. I've got them because they don't need breaking in and are more comfortable than leather ones.

On a bit of a spending spree this week! Just ordered a WE luger, a P90 tappet plate and an M16 length barrel from Cobra.
